Prince Of Wales Workout Report: July 9, 2011

With just one week left until the 2011 Prince of Wales Stakes at Fort Erie, a number of the nominees hit the track this morning to begin final preparations for the race.

- Check Your Soul breezed five furlongs on Woodbine's dirt training track this morning. He posted the top time out of any of the nominees who worked five furlongs today, covering the distance in 1:00.40.

- Oban and Welloiledmachine also breezed five furlongs this morning on Woodbine's dirt training track. Oban covered five furlongs in 1:01.40, while Welloiledmachine posted a time of 1:02.00.

- Oh Canada breezed five furlongs this morning on Woodbine's main track in 1:01.40.

- Hippolytus was the only nominee who made the trip down the QEW to work at Fort Erie this morning. The three-year-old gelding breezed five furlongs on dirt in 1:02.00.

- Back in New York after his fourth place finish in the 2011 Queen's Plate, Bowman's Causeway hit the workout tab this morning at Saratoga. The three-year-old colt breezed four furlongs on Saratoga's dirt training track in 50.04.

- Jennifer Morrison of Canadian Thoroughbred Magazine reported this week on her Thoroughblog that Charlie's the Man, owned by Jim and Susan Hill and trained by Brian Lynch, will likely be supplemented into next week's Prince of Wales Stakes. Charlie's the Man breezed six furlongs on Woodbine's main track this morning in 1:13.00.
