The Queen's Plate Contenders: June 2, 2011

Here's your daily look at the nominees for the 2011 Canadian Triple Crown for June 2, 2011:

- Head Honcho, Control, Ojibway Signal, Curgone and Kurogane all raced against each other in the first race at Woodbine on Wednesday. The race was an allowance race for Ontario-sired three-year-olds which have never won two races that was run over one mile and one eighth on polytrack. Head Honcho won the race by one half of a length over Control, who finished second. Ojibway Signal finished third beaten two lengths, Curgone finished fourth beaten six lengths and Kurogane finished fifth beaten eight and one half lengths.

- Sardonicus has been entered into Saturday’s third race at Woodbine. The race is an allowance race for three-year-olds which have never won two races that will be run over seven furlongs on Woodbine’s Polytrack. Sardonicus has drawn post five for the race. He is trained by Mark Casse and will be ridden by Quincy Welch.

- Enduring Star worked four furlongs at Woodbine this morning. The three-year-old colt breezed four furlongs in 49.00 over Woodbine’s main track. The workout ranked sixth out of 25 horses who worked that distance this morning.
