The post position draw for the 56th running of the Woodbine Oaks presented by Budweiser took place earlier today at WEGZ Stadium Bar in Vaughan. Inglorious was named the 5-2 morning line favourite for the race and drew post number three.

Guest drawmaster "Irish" Micky Ward assisted Woodbine track announcer Dan Loiselle and Woodbine racing secretary Steve Lym with the draw. Nine were entered into Canada's most prestigious race for three-year-old fillies, all looking to capture the $300,000 winner's share of the $500,000 purse.

Roxy Gap (3-1), one of two fillies trained by Mark Casse in Sunday's race, was the first horse drawn and was assigned to post number seven. Casse mentioned earlier this week that he has often mistaken Roxy Gap for 2007 Canadian Triple Tiara winner Sealy Hill, which could be a great sign for this year's Fury Stakes winner. An outside post should help, as Patrick Husbands should be able to guide Roxy Gap through a clean trip. Spooky Kitten (12-1), who drew post eight, will be the second Casse trainee starting on Sunday.

Donver Stables' Inglorious was the last filly drawn out of the entry box and drew post three for Sunday's big race. Inglorious is coming off a one and one quarter length score in the La Lorgnette Stakes three weeks ago as the 3-5 choice. Inglorious is trained by Josie Carroll, who will also saddle Silver Ami (15-1) from post six. Carroll hinted that Inglorious will probably have to come from off of the pace if she wants to find herself in the winner's circle on Sunday.

"In New Orleans, we took Inglorious out of her game a little bit (in the Fair Grounds Oaks) because of the way the race set up," said Carroll. "We had her closer to the pace.  It really wasn't ideal.  It made her a little too anxious,  it geared her up a little bit.  We certainly aren't going to do that again."

The other five horses in the field include Charasmatically (20-1) who will start from post one, Abrianna (8-1) who will start from post two, Grand Style (8-1) who will start from post four, Bear It's Time (4-1) who will start from post five and Marketing Mix (6-1) who will start from post nine.

At The Post will break down the field and provide selections for the race on Saturday. On Sunday, follow At The Post's Twitter account (@atthepostblog) for live updates from Woodbine Racetrack. We'll even try to tweet some photos of the horses as they make their way from the paddock to the track before the race.
