Dancing Raven recorded her second career stakes victory and first victory of the 2011 season Wednesday night at Woodbine in the $125,000 Ballade Stakes. Trailing throughout the early going, Dancing Raven made a huge move in the turn to defeat her rivals in the six furlong sprint.

Dancing Raven sat at the back of the pack along the backstretch as the front-running Tennis Braclet set the pace in quick opening fractions of 22.47 and 45.22. As the field moved into the turn, Dancing Raven angled out to the five-wide path and began to make her move for the front. Tennis Braclet continued to lead into the stretch, but quickly faded as Dancing Raven took control along the outside in the final furlong. Dancing Raven would go on to win by one and three quarters of a length over Articulating. Sans Sousi finished third to complete the triactor. Dancing Raven crossed the line in 1:10.16 and paid $10.60 for the win.

Trained by Michael Doyle and ridden by Luis Contreas, Dancing Raven added $75,000 to her bankroll for owners Windhaven.
