Fort Erie Race Track announced last week that they will be bringing back 4:00 p.m. post times on Mondays and Tuesdays for June, July and August. The first edition of twilight racing in 2011 begins this afternoon at 4:00 p.m.

After a successful 2010 season, Fort Erie has made a number of additions to the twilight racing program.

The Prince of Wales Dining Room will offer six different themed buffets during twilight racing including New York, New York, Mardi Gras, Niagara Seasonal Bounty, Down Home BBQ, Mediterranean and Bistro Gastro Pub.

Fort Erie has also constructed a new Tiki Bar, which is located on the apron of the grandstand. Fans can enjoy a special menu that includes clams, mussels and festive summer drinks, as well as a unique racing experience with its trackside location. The new Tiki Bar will be open on Fridays and Saturdays from 4:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m., Sundays from noon until 7:00 p.m. and Mondays and Tuesdays from 3:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. The grand opening of the Tiki Bar will take place on Tuesday, June 7th.

Free concerts will also be offered to fans after each Tuesday night card at 7:30 p.m. Bands such as Ear Candy, Off The Wall and Amber Reigns will take the stage.

Opening the first twilight racing card of the 2011 season will be a six and a half furlong, $5,000 claiming race, for fillies and mares three-years-old and up. Soar is the 6-5 morning line favourite and will be ridden by Martin Ramirez.
