Thursday Racing Returns To Woodbine

Thursday racing returns to Woodbine today with an eight race card that will feature 66 runners. First post gets underway at 2:00 p.m.

The eighth and final race of the day looks to be Thursday's feature. 12 fillies and mares are entered into an Ontario-sired allowance race for non-winners of two races that will be run over one mile and one sixteenth on turf. The early morning line favourite for the race is four-year old filly Pink My Ride, who is trained by Robert Tiller and will be ridden by Luis Contreras. Pink My Ride has run once already this season, failing to hit the board in an allowance race on May 13th, and is coming into the race with no published works since that last race. Pink My Ride's main challenge may come from Flashing Honor who is trained by Tino Attard and will be ridden by Quincy Welch. Flashing Honor is coming out of the same race as Pink My Ride on May 13th, however, Flashing Honor narrowly lost and had to settle for second. Flashing Honor is coming into the race off of a strong five furlong breeze in 1:01.00 on May 26th.

Thursday also sees Queen's Plate Nominee Blackstone Bay in action in an open maiden special weight race, traveling six and one half furlongs on polytrack. Blackstone Bay has failed to break his maiden in three other starts this season, but has two in-the-money finishes. The Casse trainee will be ridden by Contreras and will be a favourite in this field. Even with a win today, however, we likely won't see Blackstone Bay in this year's Queen's Plate.
