A scary scene occurred in today's seventh race at Woodbine that featured maiden two-year olds. In the five-furlong sprint on polytrack, jockey Emma Jayne Wilson's mount, Flo's Henny, fell in the turn throwing the rider to the track. When Wilson fell to the track it looked as if Flo's Henny may have stepped on her. Wilson's orange helmet also appeared to fly off, towards the outside of the track. I did not attend the races today so I do not have an update on the condition of Flo's Henny.
Although it is not known what condition Wilson is in at the moment, Woodbine's Twitter feed was reporting that Wilson walked off under her own power and was taken to hospital.
If Wilson is forced to miss racing action it will be the second Woodbine jockey to miss time this season. Tyler Pizzaro broke his collarbone back in early July but returned to action today.
