The Queen's Plate Contenders: April 12, 2011

Here's your daily look at the nominees for the 2011 Canadian Triple Crown:



- Todd Pletcher announced today that Queen'splatekitten and Sensational Slam will race in the Grade I $750,000 Bluegrass Stakes at Keeneland on Saturday. Although they won't be officially entered until later in the week, expect to see both horses compete in the one mile and one eighth race on polytrack.

- Good Better Best worked four furlongs at Keeneland this morning. The three-year-old colt breezed four furlongs in 47.40 over Keeneland's main track. The workout ranked third out of 10 horses who worked that distance this morning.

- Diego Bay worked four furlongs at Keeneland this morning. The three-year-old colt breezed four furlongs in 47.80 over Keeneland's main track.The workout ranked fifth out of 10 horses who worked that distance this morning.

- Runaway Whiz worked three furlongs at Woodbine this morning. The three-year-old colt breezed three furlongs in 39.00 over Woodbine's main track. The workout ranked eighth out of eight horses who worked that distance this morning.
