Woodbine jockey Emile Ramsammy expects that he won't miss any racing this weekend after suffering minor injuries when he fell off his mount in Sunday's ninth race.

The 48-year-old veteran jockey fell forward off of his mount in the maiden special weight event, Harmony Lane, along the backstretch. Harmony Lane broke down and fell, rolling right over top of Ramsammy, who was down on the racetrack. Luckily, Ramsammy suffered only minor bruising and is hopeful he can return to racing this weekend.

Ramsammy's agent Neil Wilson, updated the Daily Racing Form on his client's condition yesterday:

"He had X-rays, and a CAT scan, which came back negative," said jockey agent Neal Wilson, who represents Ramsammy. "They released him, and he was home last night. He’s sore and beat up, he has a headache, but he tells me he’s riding on the weekend."

While it is good news that Ramsammy will recover and will be able to ride this weekend, the news is not so great for Harmony Lane and her connections. The three-year-old filly had to be euthanized on the track in just her third lifetime start. Harmony Lane had finished second in each of her first two races on November 6, 2010, and November 24, 2010, earning $21,260. Harmony Lane was trained by Michael Doyle and was owned by Windhaven Farms.
