Biofuel Named Canada's Horse Of The Year

Kentucky-bred Biofuel was named Canada's Horse of the Year for 2010 at the Sovereign Awards ceremony, which took place Friday night at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto. Biofuel defeated Miss Keller and Grand Adventure for the award. Biofuel had a sensational 2010 season at Woodbine, racing in four stakes races and winning all four of them. Biofuel also tried two Grade I races in New York last season and recorded and in-the-money finish both times. Earlier in the night, Biofuel was also named Champion Three-Year-Old Filly for 2010.

Jockey Eurico Rosa Da Silva secured his first Sovereign Award as Woodbine's top jockey. Da Silva, who recorded his second consecutive Queen's Plate in 2010 on Big Red Mike, won 187 races at Woodbine last season.
