Check Your Soul hit to the track earlier this morning at Woodbine for his first workout since his three and one quarter length victory in the Plate Trial Stakes on June 5th. With rider Patrick Husbands aboard, Check Your Soul breezed five furlongs on Woodbine's polytrack.

Check Your Soul was one of the first contenders to make his way to the track with just over a week to go before the 152nd running of the Queen's Plate. Considered one of the favourites, he breezed five furlongs in 1:00.40 on the main track. The workout ranked second out of 22 horses who worked that distance this morning.

On paper, that work looks like it's exactly what you would want from your horse going into the biggest race of his career. Trainer Roger Attfield felt that the workout went very well.

Speaking to the Daily Racing Form, Attfield commented: "It was a wonderful breeze. I'll do a little bit with him next Wednesday, and we should be all set."

Along with Inglorious and Queen'splatekitten, Check Your Soul is one of the top contenders for Canadian horse racing's biggest prize.
